• The A.T. passes through highly developed communities in this area, as well as productive agricultural lands and wetlands with significant natural resource and scenic values. Incompatible development is a continual threat to the A.T. and its surrounding landscape. Opportunities still exist to connect existing state parks and the A.T. corridor lands. Large scale residential developments have threatened the landscape in the past.
